The Nebraska Economic Opportunity Corps is a partnership of ServeNebraska, Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska and non-profit agencies coming together for a common purpose: to use the power of national service to assist Nebraskan's in overcoming economic barriers, thereby opening a pathway to greater self-sufficiency. LFS AmeriCorps members work will be related to increasing self-sufficiency within three population groups: immigrants/ refugees, at-risk youth/families, and veterans/loved ones.

All NEOC members will directly serve at least ONE of these population groups within Lutheran Family Services (internal host sites) or at external host sites- such as the Salvation Army, Women’s Center for Advancement, or El Centro de las Americas. Regardless of where you serve, your living stipend comes through Lutheran Family Services, so all your onboarding paperwork, background screens, and benefits also come through LFS. After being around for 10 years and developing the largest program in the state, you can trust that we’ll place you in the program that best fits your personality, passion, and career goals.

Remember, AmeriCorps is not your typical job - it is a volunteering experience where you receive a living stipend and education award.

Program Term: September 1, 2014 – August 31, 2015
