What does it mean to be a Foster Care child?
Foster Care children may be older children, usually between the ages of eight and fourteen. They may also have physical handicaps or behavior issues related to past experience. The following children are special.

Anthony

Anthony
A handsome smile and an urge for excitement is a great way to explain Anthony. Anthony enjoys playing sports and video games.

Anthony is an intelligent child and is successful in school. Although Anthony can be willful, he can also be polite and is learning how to accept consequences for his actions and follow directions. Anthony is also making progress in leaning how to express his emotions appropriately.

As a result of having many placements, Anthony will benefit most from a family he can count on to stand by him through thick and thin. Anthony will need a family with strong parenting skills willing to implement structure and consistency in his life.

Anthony longs to be adopted and have a place to call "home."

Michael
Michael is a friendly and cheerful boy who has a big grin. He is cute and lively. Michael works hard to please others and is successful within a consistent behavior modification program. His school teachers report he is eager and cooperative within the school setting. Michael struggles with developmental delays but experienced success when he was awarded "Most Improved Student" at the close of the 2002 2003 school year.

Michael needs a family able to provide a highly structured environment for him. He experiences abuse related behavioral problems and requires strict supervision in the community as well as in the home. Michael would thrive in a loving home with firm and clear rules.

Michael takes medication and works with mental health professionals to address his mental health diagnoses and developmental delays. It is essential Michael be assured of parental guidance, praise and support. He needs a family able to openly communicate with mental health professionals. Michael would benefit from older siblings or do well as the only child in an encouraging and attentive home.

Tralan
Tralan is a loving, good-looking boy who craves affection. He really wants to belong in a forever family and would do very well as the youngest child in a warm and nurturing environment. Tralan experiences abuse related behavioral problems and requires vigilant supervision at home and in the community.

Tralan enjoys riding his bike, playing basketball and swimming. He is shy and reserved. His current foster family says he is cooperative and affectionate. Tralan's favorite fictional character is the "Incredible Hulk." Tralan says the Hulk protects him from his bad dreams.

Tralan needs a family where structure and consistency help him learn adults can be trusted. Tralan would like a forever family he can grow attached to and will love and protect him forever.
