Vets4Vets^® Peer-to-Peer Support Groups

Because no one understands a service member better than someone who has "been there," Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska, as part of the At Ease^® trauma & therapeutic support program, offers Vets4Vets^® peer-to-peer support groups. Peer-to-peer support is important in the recovery of our active duty service members and veterans as well as their loved ones. All service members and veterans can provide encouragement, camaraderie and support as well as learn from their peers.

Small groups meet weekly and activities have included working on job skills, accessing the VA Healthcare System for medical treatment and benefits, accessing basic services in the community, and just being together to vent, share and hang out.

LFS provides Behavioral Health Services that focus on the needs of those who have experienced trauma, including outpatient mental health treatment, substance abuse/addictions treatment, 24/7 urgent care and emergency and community support services. LFS behavioral health services are made available through insurance payments, sliding scale fees and contributions.
