Outpatient Mental Health Counseling
Locations | Experts | How You Can Help This Program

Outpatient Mental Health Counseling is available to children and adults in most of LFS' Nebraska offices.

In this program, individual, family and group therapists assess and treat mental health disorders and problems related to everything from everyday stress to chronic mental health disorders that disrupt ones ability to function appropriately at home, in the community and in the workplace. (Read how J, through counseling & therapy, came back from multiple suicide attempts.)

Services in some locations include on-site psychiatric evaluation and medication monitoring to reduce major symptoms such as depression. In-home Family Therapy is also available in some locations.

Outpatient Substance Abuse Services are also available for persons who have abused drugs or alcohol or have been diagnosed as chemically dependent if they can be treated in the community with sessions offered three or less times per week.

Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska accepts most major insurance coverage for outpatient mental health services. We also offer sliding fees to individuals and families without insurance for mental health and who are eligible for a state mental health subsidy because of income.

Funding for this program is provided in part by Region IV Behavioral Healthcare, Region V Behavioral Healthcare and Region VI Behavioral Healthcare.
