Typical Placement Process for Agency Adoptive Families

1. Admission

Adoptive Family Actions

  • Initial call to the Agency
  • Review pre-adopt letter
  • Schedule and attend pre-adopt meeting
  • Return application for adoption
  • Complete and return admission questionnaires
  • Participate in admission meeting

Agency Actions

  • Answer questions
  • Send pre-adopt informational letter
  • Hold pre-adopt meetings
  • Provide written information on the program and application
  • Send admission questionnaires
  • Schedule admission reviews
  • Schedule individual appointments
  • Program Administrator extends invitations to begin homestudies
  • Couples not accepted are given recommendations and encouraged to re-apply
2. Homestudy

  • Acceptance letter is received
