In this program, Family Support Specialists provide in-home and community educational and support services to assist with parenting and home management problems that place children at risk of abuse or neglect.

Our specialists demonstrate, educate and empower families on how to:

• Achieve a healthy and safe home environment
• Enhance self-esteem and trust
• Provide proper care, safety and management of children
• Enhance communication skills
• Manage aggression and anger
• Seek out and utilize alternate support systems
• Achieve self-sufficiency

Family Support Specialists also supervise and provide assistance at family visits to ensure that topics of conversation are appropriate, family members are maintaining appropriate roles and the visit is positive and productive. In addition, specialists provide transportation for family members as identified in the case plan.
