Donate In-Kind Items to Programs

Can you donate items to help those helped by LFS provide for their children or begin a new life in this country or outside of prison? Listed below are items needed by LFS clients.

1. Lutheran Refugee Services sets up approximately 1 household per week. Many items are needed to complete a household and several of these items are donated to us on a regular basis, however, there are a number of items that are in short supply. We appreciate your willingness to donate these items and help us turn a house into a home! If you can donate any of these items, please contact Jeff Vandenberg at (402) 346-6100.

2. The BRIDGE Prison Ministry also has ongoing needs. If you can donate any of these items, please contact Nancy Sutton at (402) 489-2989.

• Clothing: Seasonal clothing for work, including coveralls and overalls
• Personal care items: alarm clocks, men's toiletries, phones and radios
• Bedroom: Dressers
• Kitchen: Pots and pans
• Living room: End tables and coffee tables
• Transportation: Adult men's bicycles, cars, and trucks
• Men's clothing, especially in the larger sizes and especially work clothing, including shoes, jeans, shirts, socks and underwear
• Personal care items including towels, wash cloths, razors, cologne, deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrushes
• Bedroom items such as full- and twin-size beds and bedding, and chests of drawers or dressers
• Kitchen housewares, including pots and pans, dishes, silverware, storage containers, dish towels, microwaves, toasters, coffee pots and other small appliances (we cannot take major appliances like washers, dryers, stoves and refrigerators), tables and chairs
• Living Room items such as couches, easy chairs, end tables, coffee tables, lamps for every room, computer desks and bookshelves
  

3. The Building Families Boutique in Council Bluffs occasionally holds baby showers for client. Below is a list of items typically needed. If you can donate any of these items, please contact Meghan Malik at (402) 661-7100.

• Diapers size 4 and 5
• Baby wipes
• Baby care items (shampoo, lotion, body wash)
• Outfits newborn to 5T
• Shoes for children ages 1 to 5
• Training pants and underwear size 2 T to 5T
• Pajamas newborn to 5T
• Children's books
• Quilts
• Breast pumps
• Convertible car seats
• Baby bathtubs
• Strollers
