Lutheran Family Services hosts Freed for Life fundraising event
Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska (LFS) is hosting the third annual Freed For Life Dinner on Saturday, April 28, at Sheridan Lutheran Church, 6955 Old Cheney Rd. in Lincoln. The dinner/program begins at 6:30 p.m. A special pre-event workshop on planned giving opportunities to support prison ministry will be offered at 5 p.m.
Funds raised at the FREED for LIFE event will go to "Muriel's Fund" for the endowment of Nebraska Synod, ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) prison ministry and "The BRIDGE," a community re-entry program for ex-offenders that was founded by Pastor Bud Christenson and his late wife, Muriel. The BRIDGE is administered by Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska.
This fundraising event will feature dinner, fellowship, music and an opportunity to meet some of the men and women served through this ministry of the Nebraska Synod and Lutheran Family Services. The program will feature testimonials by former and current inmates.
