Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska, Inc. (LFS) announces the hiring of two vice presidents, Ruth Henneman and Steve Peterson. President and CEO Ruth Henrichs stated, “The additional experience and expertise brought by Henneman and Peterson positions LFS for a strong future in service to children and families.”

Ruth HennemanRuth Henneman assumed responsibility as vice president of development mid-year 2008. Henneman’s significant fundraising experience includes serving as vice president of institutional advancement at the College of Saint Mary, regional director of development/major gift officer at Creighton University and assistant director of development at Dana College in Blair. She also spent 10 years in South Dakota’s state government as a program director, health/education policy analyst and constituent services director for the Governor’s Office. Henneman is a graduate of the University of South Dakota.

photo of Steve PetersonSteve Peterson joined LFS in January as vice president of administrative services. A graduate of Dana College, Peterson spent over 25 years with the Omaha World-Herald and its affiliated companies. During his tenure with the World-Herald, he fulfilled several financial and administrative roles including chief financial officer of The Record in Stockton, Calif., and was responsible for the day-to-day construction management of the World Herald’s Freedom Center production facility in downtown Omaha. Peterson’s last three years at the World-Herald were as president of World Real Estate Management, LLC, its construction and facility subsidiary.

Henrichs commented, “Peterson’s 25 years of diverse business experiences at the Omaha World-Herald will be very beneficial in advancing the internal capacity and business processes at LFS. He understands the significant economic and healthy community impact that not for profits bring to communities across Nebraska.”
