October 15, 2013 (Omaha, Nebraska) – Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska (LFS) has promoted Christy Fiala to Regional Services Director for Children Services. Her office will remain in Fremont’s Rupert Dunklau Center for Healthy Families, where she will continue to serve as program supervisor for now.

“It is largely because of Christy’s outstanding leadership that we are seeing significant growth in the Fremont area,” says Todd Reckling, Vice President for Program at LFS. “Moving Christy into this role will better position us to manage this growth. It also underscores the importance of our long-time and unwavering commitment to the Fremont community.”

In this newly-created leadership role, Christy will be responsible for representing all Lutheran Family Services programs in the Fremont area and will continue to play a key role in community and donor relations.

Before coming to LFS in 2012, Fiala served as Coordinator of Language Services at the Fremont Area Medical Center. There, she led the interpretation and translation services of the hospital. In addition to her work at the Center, Fiala serves on several boards in the community, including the Fremont Community Health Clinic and the Executive Team of the Early Childhood Coalition.

Fiala is a graduate of the University of Nebraska Lincoln. She served two years in the Peace Corps in Tortuguero, Costa Rica. After returning from Costa Rica, Fiala received her Master’s degree from the College of Saint Mary. Christy Fiala lives in Fremont with her husband Ryan and daughter Violet.
