January 31, 2014 (Lincoln, NE) – Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska (LFS) has
scheduled weekly meetings in February to provide information to consumers and
providers of the former Lancaster County Community Mental Health Center (CMHC).
These open forum meetings will give additional opportunities to understand possible
changes now that LFS has assumed delivery of core services at this location.
The former CMHC offices are closed January 31 and February 3 for the physical
transition of moving computers, furniture and such, and will reopen Tuesday, February 4
as Lutheran Family Services Lincoln, South Office.
The transition meetings are as follows. All will be held in the lower level of the CMHC
building:
For Consumers:
Thursday, February 6 10:00am – 12:00pm
Wednesday, February 26 12:00pm – 2:00pm
For Providers:
Tuesday, February 11 8:00am – 10:00 am
Thursday, February 20 3:00pm – 5:00pm

These meetings are the next step in the LFS transition communication plan. A dedicated
webpage with answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) –www.lfsquestions.org —
has experienced steady and growing traffic throughout January. The website also
provides a place for consumers and their families to submit new questions or concerns.
From mid-January until recently, LFS staff members and therapists also visited with and
answered questions from hundreds of CMHC consumers as they came into the lobby
area for their appointments.
Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska is a 122-year-old statewide, community-based human
care organization. LFS seeks safety, hope and well-being for all people through three core areas
of competency: children services, behavioral health and community services. On any given day,
LFS has open case files on over 2,000 children – and serves over 5,000 behavioral health
consumers statewide each year. LFS is the recipient of the 2013 Better Business Bureau
Integrity Award.
