FOR RELEASE: Monday, August 13, 2018

The recent immigration enforcement raids in O’Neill and other north-central Nebraska communities are having an immediate and devastating impact on the children and families involved.

As Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska (LFS) joins with other social service and nonprofit organizations to provide support in the affected communities, LFS invites others to help the children and families with immediate and urgent needs such as:

  • Diapers, especially sizes 4 & 5
  • Feminine hygiene products (especially pads) and other items
  • Infant formula

Because the affected families are now without a dependable source of income, monetary donations are welcome. All contributions will be used to purchase grocery, gas and phone gift cards to directly support families in the impacted communities of O’Neill, Atkinson, Royal and the surrounding areas.

Those interested in making an online donation may visit www.LFSneb.org  and click on the “Help Now” button on the home screen.

Three donation drop-off sites have been set up for cash donations and the needed items listed above; locations will be open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
