‘Rally for Kids’ to Raise Funds and Awareness for Critical Children’s Programs on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019

Omaha, Neb., Dec. 18, 2019 – A child’s brain is 85 percent developed by age three. Because early childhood experiences shape the brain’s ability to learn throughout their life, children need nurturing parents and safety from abuse, neglect and stress. Unfortunately, many of our area children have experienced less than ideal childhoods. But children are resilient. There is help and hope for these children.

Through Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska (LFS) mental health services, parenting programs, wrap-around support and incentive-based programming, children and parents can heal and reach their full potential for a healthy life. LFS is able to offer many programs to our community free of charge, thanks to community support through fundraisers like “Rally for Kids.”

“Rally for Kids” is a fun, casual event hosted by LFS where all proceeds support programs that help Omaha-Council Bluffs area children and families grow stronger. The event is held Thursday, Feb. 28 from 6-9 p.m. at the Embassy Suites Omaha Downtown Old Market.

Tickets are now available for purchase at LFSneb.org. Single tickets are just $100, which includes dinner, open bar and one parking pass. Guests will be dressed in their favorite sports casual attire — creative outfits are encouraged! Council Bluffs Mayor Matt Walsh and his wife Barb are honorary chairs of the event; event chairs are Chris and Lindsey Tonniges.
