From our friends at Heartland Workforce Solutions

HEARTLAND WORKFORCE SOLUTIONS PLANS Welcome to America Job Fair two-part event series in March 2022

(Omaha, NEB) – Heartland Workforce Solutions is holding two Welcome to America Job Fairs, the first will be on Saturday, March 26, from 1 – 4 pm at Heartland Workforce Solutions (5752 Ames Avenue, Omaha, NE). The second event will be held on Wednesday, March 30, from 11 am – 2 pm at the UNO Barbara Weitz Community Engagement Center (6400 University Dr S, Omaha, NE). These events are being held in partnership with community agencies across the local area who are working with the recent influx of Afghan refugees, as well as other refugee populations, all of which are focused on connecting these new Americans to employment. The community agencies helping bring these events to the community are: Lutheran Family Services, Refugee Empowerment Center, International Council for Refugees and Immigrants, Afghan Islamic Community Center of Omaha, UNO Center for Afghan Studies, and Equus Workforce Solutions.

“Our community is welcoming Afghan refugees into our friendships, neighborhoods, schools, and workforce. Our local employers have great jobs and wages available now. Filling these occupations quickly benefits our local economy.” said Erin Porterfield, Executive Director of Heartland Workforce Solutions.
