Take your Activism to a New Level! Be Part of Nebraska’s Migrants and Refugee Leadership Academy
Do you have what it takes? Calling on all migrants and refugees in the State of Nebraska to attend the inaugural statewide migrants and refugee leadership training to be held in Omaha, NE at Marriott Courtyard Downtown/Old Market, 101 S 10th St., on September 6 – 7, 2018.
This all day training event offers migrants and refugees the opportunity to come together to share experiences, connect with each other, and develop the skills necessary to advocate on issues of importance to migrants and refugees in our State.
The training is designed to hone leadership skills, create opportunity for networking and provide incentives for participants to take the experience back to their local communities and advocate for issues of concern to the broader migrant and refugee community. Our goal is to lift up the voices of all refugees in order to create more welcoming communities in the state of Nebraska.
The leadership training will include an advocacy visit to our State Capitol to share our stories and advocate for legislation promoting welcome in our state.
If selected to attend, we will cover your transportation, food, room and board.
Space is limited, so please apply today!
Applications open July 1 and must be received by Aug 3.
If you have any questions, feel free to email NERefugeeLeadership@gmail.com.
