Collaborative Screening of RESILIENCE: The Biology of Stress & the Science of Hope
September 9, 2017 @ 10:00 am| Free
On Saturday, September 9, 2017, LFS, Thanksgiving Church and Lift Up Sarpy County will present two special screenings of the documentary RESILIENCE: THE BIOLOGY OF STRESS & THE SCIENCE OF HOPE at Thanksgiving Church, 3702 South 370 Plaza, Bellevue, NE 68123.
RESILIENCE asserts that trauma caused by childhood abuse and neglect can trigger hormones that wreak havoc on the brains and bodies of children, putting them at greater risk for disease, homelessness, prison time and early death. RESILIENCE also spotlights trailblazers who are using cutting-edge science and field-tested therapies to protect children from toxic stress.
The post-show discussion panel will be composed of experts in the fields of child development, trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
This is a FREE event, but we ask that you RSVP below by Wednesday, September 6. Free-will offerings will be designated to LFS RSafe®, a program serving victims of child sexual abuse and their families.
